"You know the saying, 'Human see, human do.'"Julius, "Planet of the Apes"
The "Planet of the Apes" series of films have always had a place in my heart. I remember seeing the first few films in the series on T.V. when I was pretty young. I was absolutley enamoured with the idea of a race of ape people. There was something about the idea that excited me. Between that movie and the Star Wars trilogy, I was hooked on science fiction.
Somewhere along the way I grew up and got into computers and cyberpunk novels. I thought that a lot of the science fiction at the time was sort of lame - but William Gibson, Bruce Sterling, Rudy Rucker, Star Wars and Planet of the Apes kept me from writing the whole genre off.
Wait a second... I'm trying to pimp cool t-shirts here, not take a trip down memory lane.
This shirt is from an L.A. based artist by the name of Tim Hall who has some pretty sweet stuff on his personal site. The design is available on a whole plethora of men's and women's apparel. Seeing as how it's winter, we suggest you go with a hoodie. But ultimately, the choice is yours.

To some people, it seems like the only reason Diesel Sweeties exists anymore is to sell shirts. To those people I say, "Why do you hate freedom?" I love Richard Stevens' web comic, and I applaud his ability to support himself purely on the revenue from the merchandise he sells.
My "Jesus Helps Me Trick People" shirt upsets just about everyone who reads it. I on the other hand think it's sacrilarious. And I'm pretty sure that if I owned the "Bacon is a Vegetable" shirt I'd make at least one or two vegetarians cry.
Afterall, isn't making people who aren't you cry what life's really about?

Have you ever had an idea for a t-shirt, but couldn't afford to get it printed? Stenciling is great for doing short runs of personal t-shirts without having to pay a screenprinter. Granted, you can't get the same level of detail out of a stencil and it's a bit labor intensive. But in the end you get the satisfaction of wearing or giving away something that you've made.
Stencil Revolution has a solid set of instructions for stenciling your very own shirts. Of course, it helps if you're familiar with how to make a stencil, but that should be pretty apparent. Just let your inner Martha Stewart out so she can do her thing and you ought to be fine. Just don't let her do any insider trading, okay?
P.S. If you want to save yourself some heartache, make a tester shirt or two on some inside out shirts from the goodwill. Never just cut a stencil and think the first shirt you do is going to turn out perfectly.

Dear Vintage Gamer Geek,
Atari logo shirts are played out. I'm pretty sure most of you know that, but it bears repeating. They've been played out since the nerd character in Road Trip wore one and danced like a jackass to Run DMC. I hate to break it to you but Nintendo shirts are almost over too. Mark my words: Commodore shirts are going to be "the next big thing".
But why Commodore? Because when all else fails, it's best to go as retro as you possibly can. Since I couldn't find any Timex Sinclair shirts, Commodore had to be it. So pull out your VIC-20, C64 or C128 and let's party.
Yours truly,
Jason

If you'll pardon me, I've gotta get something out of the way before I go on.
Neeeeerds.
Alright, I feel better now. Thanks for indulging me.
Found Item Clothing has some amazing recreations of shirts from classic movies and television. Of course, one's definition of classic has to be a bit skewed. They've recreated shirts from Strange Brew, Real Genius, UHF, Revenge of the Nerds and Get A Life. The level of detail they put into each shirt is something else. Everything about the Adams Atoms shirt at left has been matched up with stills from the film. From the position of the electrons on the orbits down to the font, it's a perfect replica. This shirt is a hipster's wet dream - which explains why I just came a little.

Besides running a pretty kickin' blog, Maggie Mason [aka Mighty Girl] also sells t-shirts. Well, it's just one t-shirt... But it's a good one, I swear.
It could be that the shirt has the word "Fuck" on it in all caps, but I love the crap out of this shirt. Were I still single I bet I could wear this shirt to a bar and walk away with a few phone numbers. Sure some of those numbers could be from dudes, but I'd wager to bet at least one of them would come from a girl. Perhaps one who dabbled in lesbianism in college and actually gets what I'm trying to say. That sex with me is as good as with a girl.
And even if it's not, hey at least I can get my foot in the door...

I'm a guy who's all about simple, elegant and classic design. Even more so when it comes to logos. This shirt from the American Red Cross tickles all of those dispositions. The classic army green works beautifully alongside the red and white of the logo. Proceeds apparently go to aid American soldiers, which is okay. Do keep in mind that the people affected by the Indian Ocean tsunamis need your money just as much as [if not more than] US troops. So it'd probably be really nice if you could toss some money in the Red Cross' coffer for disaster relief while you're there.

This whole idea stemmed from a particularly furious IM session with my friend Frazier. He was looking for a few new shirts for his first year at the University of San Francisco, so I started by scouring Cool Hunting. After spending a few hours bouncing URLs back and forth, I thought that it'd be nice if there were a blog that just focused on t-shirts.
After the idea percolated in my brain for a bit, I decided bite the bullet and grab a domain name. Everyone I'd brought the concept up to said it was a great idea... Some even accused me of trying to part them with their hard earned money.
As much as Cool Hunting inspired me, I'm also an avid reader of PVRblog and Gizmodo. The model they use is a solid one, so I'm going to try to base this site off theirs as much as possible.
One of the differences you may notice is the distinct lack of ads. Since the site's in a "soft launch" period, we're actually ad free. We should have Google AdWords up on the site in the next week or so, but after that we have no plans to litter the page with stuff you don't want to see. We very well may take the Coudal Partners approach of "sell us something then we'll sell you an ad", but that probably won't happen anytime soon.
Anyhow, we'll get out of your way and let you start exploring what there is of the site so far. If you have any questions or tips, please feel free to send a mail to tips@preshrunk.info. Cheers!|W|P|110427238342959126|W|P|Hello World|W|P|boogah@gmail.com
