While the first film was your standard horror film, the second and third movie added some Three Stooges style slapstick to the mix that made both films wonderful examples of how to turn a genre on it's ear. If you've never any of these cult classics, do yourself a favor and try to pick them up over the long weekend. I know that Evil Dead can be a bit hard to find but I've seen Evil Dead 2 and Army Of Darkness in almost every Blockbuster I've ever been in. And they're really the hands down best ones in the series anyhow. Anyhow, the folks at Fright Rags have done up this wonderful tee featuring Bruce Campbell as a very angry, blood splattered Ash. What's more, it's available in up to 3XL. So all you big fellas who don't think I give you enough love, here you go... Hope y'all like it. $15.00 | PayPal | URL

Mind you, I laughed my ass off when Mr. Blonde cut off that cop's ear in Reservoir Dogs... So it's probably safe to say that I'm not dealing with a full deck. But the fact that I'm not quite right in the head still doesn't make this lovely shirt from No Star Clothing not funny. In fact, I'm sure it'd garner chuckles out of perfectly sane people. So, uhm, it's got that going for it, I think. $24.00 | Credit | URL

Seriously, cut it out. You don't look cool, clever or irreverent. You look like a bandwagon hopping douche bag. Once there's a ready supply of any shirt design at Hot Topic, it's too late... Vote For Pedro tees have been on sale there for at least the last year. So give up already. Do yourself a favor. Stash that fucker at the bottom of your drawer and forget about it for five to ten years. By then, the shirt has either become vintage [and cool again] or moth food. The objective here is to take as many of them out of circulation as possible. Think about it, we'd both win here. You'll get a vintage shirt [well, eventally] and I wouldn't have to put up with seeing them. *shrug* Just an idea... Love, Jason P.S. We're well aware of the irony of the content of our Google ads next to our anti Vote For Pedro tee rant. Actually, we think it's kind of funny. P.P.S. Goddamn that cheeky Matt Haughey. I don't listen to it all the time, but I can definitely appreciate it. Hell, I'm bumping some ODB as I type this up. I didn't plan it that way, honest... iTunes was on shuffle. So it should go without saying that I love this Wu Tang insipired tee from Manifest. Actually, all their shit is pretty good. Still, I had to pick a favorite. So you're looking at it. And here I am encouraging you to go get it and make Derek from Manifest rich. He deserves it just as much as anyone else does. $25.00 | PayPal | URL

It's everything I like in a design - a new take on a classic idea that's nicely implemented and affordably priced. Sure, the anti-war beach style tees have been done by at least half a dozen other t-shirt companies - but the execution on this design is pitch perfect. From the color choices to the design, it's a cheeky modern take on retro that's been done just right. $17.00 | PayPal | URL

If it did Fox News would be off the air. MTV would actually play music videos. Reality show actors would disappear after the season of whatever abysmal show they're on is over. Sitcoms would gracefully slink away when they stop being funny. The evening news would actually report stories instead of sensationalizing them. But none of that will ever happen, because TV doesn't give a rat's ass about you. It'd much rather shill cola, beer, boner pills and feminine hygiene products while shoveling recycled pop culture down your throat. Advertising is where the money is. T'hell with people. • Reader Erin Kenzie sent in a tip about artist Lynette May doing 100% custom robot shirts for $18.00, shipping included. This would be worthy of a full-on post if Lynette had a proper shopping cart set up. Still, it's worth at least a mention for the concept alone.

They've done a really good job at recreating a noodle package, down to the nutrition facts on the side. Mmmm... Yakisoba. For the uninitiated, Yakisoba is fried noodles along with meat and veggies. The couple times I've had it, it has been rather tasty. Just the thought of it is making my tummy rumble. In fact, I'm thinking that it's time for a late lunch. So that it. End of post. Because of that, a great deal of modern designs end up feeling stiff and soulless. But the art on these vintage drag racing reproductions from Nitroactive are overflowing with heart and soul. It's the little imperfections in the drawings that make these tees so wonderful. You really don't see designs like these anymore, which is probably why I'm fawning all over them. *shrug* As much as I dig their shirts, I've gotta say that the Googie Architecture on their Wich Stand tee tugs at my heartstrings. Alongside that, he runs the contemporary art gallery sixspace with his lovely wife Caryn Coleman in Los Angeles. Sean's loves spending his leisure time squeezing off a few rounds at the local firing range, not eating meat and blogging on his personal site, SeanBonner.com. From June 11th to July 9th his afformentioned gallery is playing host to the pixeltastic tile and Rubick's Cube mosiacs of french artist Invader. If you happen to be in the greater LA area, it's definitely worth a visit. We asked Sean for a peek inside his closet and he was more than happy to indulge us... I was in 8th grade and I got a Bones Brigade t-shirt and remember the moment very clearly because I realized that finally I had a drawer full of t-shirts that I liked and had picked out myself and could finally get rid of the old t-shirts family members had given me for birthdays and holidays for the last few years. I remember how sacred those shirts were to me and I think about it every time I package up a load of shirts to drop off at Salvation Army or Goodwill which I have to do pretty regularly since I get so many all the time. A few years ago I got the idea that I didn't want to be a billboard for anyone and tried to get rid of every logo shirt I had, and bought a ton of plain colored shirts to wear in their place. Of course there were lots that I couldn't get rid of - ones I'd designed myself, ones friends had given me or just plain favorite designs. Since then the filter has gotten tighter but I've also gotten even cooler shirts. Trying to pick favorites is rough, I've got 4 drawers full of shirts I wear all the time so this is really more like 4 shirts that are on heavy rotation right now. The Mid-West I don't know why I like this shirt so much, I'm not from or particularly fond of the mid-west but something about the "it's in the middle" line makes me smile every time I read it. URL
Ecology Flag I've wanted a shirt with this flag on it since I was in High School and first saw it. For one reason or another I never made one, luckily my friend Glen just did. I got this shirt about 2 weeks ago and have worn it probably 4 times since then. The only thing better than the shirt is the puzzled looks I get from so many people - one guy even asked me if it was some anti-american thing, I had to respond "depends on how you look at it" and walked away. URL
10 Points I love Space Invaders. I love Invader. I love this shirt. URL
The Model Sons I'm not sure how I ended up with two of this exact same shirt but I have two and I wear them all the time. My friend Scott plays in this band. I know he gave me at least one of the shirts at one point, I know they are from Boston and I have the CD, but other than that I couldn't tell you much about them. This shirt on the other hand outright rules. I love everything about it and if I had 7 I'd wear them every day. URL
That s a bit of what's in my closet right now. Check back in 6 months and it will be completely different. Especially when said paper is the one that serves both where you grew up and where you live now. I've been getting a flood of emails from former classmates and teachers for the past twelve hours. Seriously, things have been sort of crazy. But now that today's edition of the paper's been relegated to birdcage liner, I'm hoping that my inbox will settle down a bit. And while it's nice to hear from all of these ghosts from my past, it's a bit overwhelming too. My basic instinct was to post the best shirt that I could dig out of my "to do" pile. One that I'd been sitting on for just the right moment that would wow and shake every one of my readers to their very core. Then I realized that the article was in the OC Register. It's not as if there were a story on the site in Time or Newsweek. So I decided to hold off on the best t-shirt ever. Believe me, when I finally run it, you'll know... So in its place I'm posing a bloody and beaten rendition of Uncle Walt's beloved Mickey. Even if I'm not very pleased with the "2sickbastards" underneath the splattered visage of the world's favorite mouse, I still really adore this tee. Maybe it's because it's taking the piss out of a global cultural icon that's so easily identifiable with Orange County. Or perhaps it's because there's some sort of visceral nerve deep inside me that gets tickled by seeing a brutalized figurehead. Hrm... That last sentence sort makes me think that I might be able to get some use out of therapy. I'm sort of sensing some unresolved rage issues here. £28.00 | Credit | URL
